Is it possible for a 16 year old to make money out of blogging?

I have no idea what a blog is or how they work.

I know that it can make money though

Thanks!

Online blogging is a way of communicating with others on a regular basis about any topic you wish to discuss. You would normally have a website of your own in place, and then sign up for a Blogger account at Blogger.com, so that you would have both a website and a blog. But you don’t necessarily have to have a website.

You can write anything you wish in your blog, make a post through Blogger.com, or Wordpress.com, and every day or every week you would write up a post that your readers would find interesting.

If you’re interested in telling people how to make money online for example, you can write blog posts about how to make money online. If you’re interested in hiking in the mountains, you can write posts on your hikes. Or if you’re interested in music, you can write posts on your favourite artists, etc.

At the end of the blog, there is a comments section where you can invite others to comment on your post, and then get a discussion rolling.

In order to make money on a blog, you can copy and paste banners on your site that lead to another website offering something for sale. For example, you may be selling books online, so you can copy/paste a banner from Amazon.com leading to the books you sell via Amazon. If someone clicks on your Amazon banner, goes to your book list, and buys one of your books, you make money.

You can also use links in your blog posts to make money within the text. For example, if I am writing about how to make money online, I may want to use a HTML hyperlink for the phrase "make money online" that when people click it, it will lead to something I’m selling.

Also, at the end of your blog posts, you would normally make a little blurb about 2-3 sentences, an author bio box, containing links to your website/s that sell something, or to a product you are selling. When people click the links and buy your stuff, that is how you make money.

You can also put Google Adsense on your blog and make money the same way.

The trick is getting enough traffic to your blog. You want visitors to be drawn to your site, so you have to market your blog and make it findable on the net. A good way to do that is by joining blog carnivals, blog traffic exchanges, posting your links in posts such as the one I’m making right now. Once you get a lot of traffic to your blog, you can start making money.

It’s not the easiest way to make money online, but it is very effective if you know how to do it right. There are many ebooks you can read on the topic to get you started. I have an online business and a blog that all started with the help of the Plug-in Profit Site. This is how I learned to make money online. Check out my blog at http://www.HonestMoneyMaking.com/blog/ and good luck with your blog!

My mother keeps writing stuff in her diary, and it’s become a passion now. I got to know that she harbored a secret dream of becoming a writer. I told her that she should start blogging, but she says the computer isn’t for her.

Maybe she’s just uncomfortable with putting her life online. There are many blogs where writers are hired to make articles that have nothing to do with themselves. Check that out and show her that she could be a paid writer from her own home. That’s why the computer is so cool.

I want to know exactly what blogging is and how I can earn money doing it. I have read that a lot of people are earning blogging. So please experts advise me how to go about it.

I like to think about blogging like I’m an online journalist, or magizine writer. I write articles that I hope others will find interesting, and then will subscribe to my blog.

Blogger.com is an excellent site to start up your first blog, and yes you can advertise on it. However, I suggest you first setup a blog, and try it out for a whle writing articles and buliding a subscriber base before you worry about trying to make money advertising off it. Link #1 below is a Youtube video explaining a bit about internet advertising. Link #2 gives some step by step instructions to get you started.

Step 1: Start up your blog, write about what you are passionite about

Step 2: After you’ve buld up readers, slowly ad advertising systems

I’ve seen 2 people being interviewed on tv who claimed they earn so much from blogging but they didn’t elaborate how. I’m quite good doing research, am a CPA and had vast experience in banking work, sales and some consultancy job. Am really interested in blogging which aside from sharing info, could give me some financial rewards. Am willing to receive small renumeration at the start, to progress as the work entailed becomes more complicated.

If you are really skilled within a specific area ……… try writing your ideas on the blog ………. that in itself would not bring audience to your blog.

You need to promote it.

If you write and your readers find it useful, they would visit your blog regularly…

That would then be something like a newspaper specialising in a specific area

If you think you can do this… try

To know of the avenues available to you for earning

I don’t really like livejournal or xanga. I already have both of those. I was going to try deadjournal because I read on here that it was really good, but I don’t want to have to pay for it and you have to have an invite code to get in free. Does anybody have an invite code they could give me, or a suggestion on another free blogging website I could try? Any information would be helpful.

I had choices from essays to videos and I figured blogging can be fun. Can you give me a good free website and a little help on how to get started with what to say, and whether i put it under one day or do it every day until its due. Please help and I promise to select you as the best answer if it helps!

Hi Jake.

There are loads of blogging websites out there, Wordpress and Blogspot probably being the two most popular.

I’ve got blogs on both, so I say this from experience: blogspot.com is MUCH easier to use, has lots of free themes (backgrounds) online that are easy to use, can easily be connected to a "real" website (like if you have your own .net or .com site) and easy to change out the favicon (the little picture to the left of the URL).

If you’re new to blogging or simply can’t be bothered with complication, go for blogspot. (If the language on the link below shows up as Swedish, you can change it at the top right of the page.)

Happy blogging!

I am a little confused on exactly how I would make money by blogging, I mean who pay me and how, once I blog who come to my page and how do I get them there. I really appreciate if some one could break it down for me.

Thanks!

Most die-hard bloggers have heard that you can make money blogging, but some don’t realize how easy it can be. From Google Adsense to pay per post deals, it’s never been easier to make money blogging. But should a blogger sell out to a pay per post or add revenue site? What are the most popular pay per post blog revenue sites to make money blogging today?

Blogitive, at http://www.blogitive.com is a pay per post site that offers jobs on a first come, first served irregular basis. When clients buy advertising, the jobs are posted, and the first bloggers to accept the jobs get them. Pay is $5 per post, but a little creative writing work is necessary to get blogitive to accept a blog posting. You are given a lengthy press release, and you must incorporate it into your blog along with a link to the client. You must only use one client link, which is attached to a special keyword. Blogitive pays decently, and is somewhat reliable with payment. Jobs are infrequent, but the more blogs you have listed with blogitive, the better your chances of obtaining a job will be. They pay every dime you make money blogging through paypal.

Bloggingads, at http://www.bloggingads.com is a startup blog pay per post site. They also pay $5 through paypal per ad. They offer the entire ad, which can be copied word for word and pasted into the blog, or you can make the ad your own by altering it. It is an easy way to make money blogging. Bloggingads does not have a lot of jobs to offer, but they pay for the test blog entry. Unlike blogitive, bloggingads puts their client / blogger information on the same page. Blogitive puts its client advertisements on a separate site that is not attached to the blogger base.

Blogsvertise, at http://www.blogsvertise.com is a newer blog pay per post site. Blog sites must be approved, and topics are assigned to members. They do not offer a press release. You must check for tasks, and they pay through paypal. This site is not necessarily for link exchange, but more so for buzz growth. They pay ten dollars for an entry, which is a good rate to make money blogging, but if the quality of the blog increases, pay increases. They are not too selective with blogs as long as they are blogs with real writing in it and not bot writing.

Pay Per Post, at http://www.payperpost.com is a blog revenue site that is very selective with the blogs it chooses, but assignments are easy. The problem with pay per post is that they do not always make clear regulations, they have a tiny link to track blog posts, which leads to confusion, and they are not very user-friendly for all bloggers. In addition, they require a lot of personal information to submit your blog, a practice that has bloggers leery of their practices. Some feel that pay per post is an awful way to make money blogging. Pay per post pays relatively well depending on the project. Some offer over ten dollars for the post. Of course, these sites are only for pay per post. There are other ways to make money blogging like Adsense, pay to blog which is basically a glorified blog site. The pay per post sites are great because a blogger can use a little bit of time and make a nice amount of grocery money. As clients increase, pay per post jobs become more frequent, which is quite nice for those who make money blogging. The problem with pay per post blogging is basic. If you want to make adsense money, it is likely that your blog will be picked on eventually as an SEO link spammer.

Some will not make money blogging both with Adsense and pay per post. To keep this from happening, a lot of blog for cash sites suggest against the pay per post types of revenue sites if your Google ranking is better than five. Proponents of pay per post sites clarify that Google Adsense is often a limited venture, with very little revenue possible for most bloggers, so why not pay per post to make money blogging. Pay per post does tend to look funny on some blogs, and others it is basically used as a writing challenge or fun game of “Let’s see how I can get this ad to fit in my blog.”

The more serious of bloggers try to keep one “virgin blog” without advertisements of any kind and then run a few revenue blogs at the same time. For the prolific, this arrangement can net a little extra money and prove to be a great diversion. Pay per post sites are yet another way to make money blogging, a trend that is certain to grow as bloggers and companies needing the buzz of the blog unite for mutual benefit. If you want to make money blogging, all you need is a blog, some time, and the willingness to participate.
